My social interest is now Astronomy

I've always been fascinated by the universe and the ocean. I grew up in a country where you could travel 20 miles to complete darkness to see a white sky at night. Now is more like 60 miles but sill possible

Why do people always seem so happy and positive in social settings?

@mw2530 My best answer is a combination of things: 1) Most people are good at pretending to be happy, and at least in the US, you're supposed to be outgoing when you go out (note even the word "outoging") 2) It's often "not polite" to be unhappy, souring other people's mood 3) You're...

Lack of bone and muscular development

I don't think it's ASD related. You mention the size of the wrists, but the size of the wrists is normally determined by the the bone structure. I imagine that you just happened to be small-boned, and the wrist is where you see it. There is a lot of variability in terms of human bodies, and...

    Secrets

Hmm. I see the speech therapy's point. Maybe the best approach is to ask your friends what they think about it. Explain your thoughts but also ask their opinion. They already know because you asked them to not mention how you met. So ask them how they feel about it. The way I see it, you don't...

How celibate woman became a threat.....

Porn can't explain much. It has always existed, everywhere. The first law of technological innovation is that it will be first applied to porn: the printing press, audio, VHS, the internet, AI, and so on. Women consume a lot of porn in the form of romance literature. Just check the bestseller...

How celibate woman became a threat.....

I didn't read the Time article, but my first reaction is, what threat? What trend? Maybe because my field is statistics, the "trend journalism" genre has always bothered me. I want to see real stats to believe there is a trend (see the article at the bottom). Journalists need to write articles...

Neurologists that treats people with autism?

@CGlvs What type of insurance do you have? Have you consulted with a primary care doctor? Can you just go to a specialist without a referral? There are many reasons for those symptoms, from trivial to serious. Dehydration, nutritional deficiency, low blood sugar, stress... Get in touch with...

I am having a manic episode again

I think that knowing that you're in a manic mood is 90% of what you need. The trouble of mania is that you think it will be always be like that, and then you do things that you'll regret. So, today: - No life decisions - No purchases - No of whatever you do when you are manic Spend the day...

    Efficacy of CBT for ASD?

Based on my experience and understanding of CBT, it would be helpful for fear of authority and assertiveness. The idea of CBT is to question your thoughts so you can change your behavior. You can work on scenarios. For example, what do you think when confronting a person of authority? What are...

How to tell someone off when they comment your behaviour?

What about something like: 1. If it were easier to do, I'd do it. 2. I don't mean anything bad if I don't look at you. If you still think so, then it's your problem. 3. I don't like your face so I prefer to look somewhere else. Maybe not 3) unless you want to lose that person...

    Efficacy of CBT for ASD?

I think it's very helpful for specific and concrete issues, not effective for "autism" in general. Anxiety, depression, negative pattern of thoughts, executive functioning... There is a lot of research on CBT. Probably thousand of studies. Do you have a specific need in mind?

Culinary Stim: Everything tastes better in....

@Rodafina I just ordered some sporks!! Yours look better, though. I always eat with a spoon but from time to time I need a fork. Perfect solution. :)

I'm new here and I thought maybe this could be a cure for me.

Welcome! @packaged theory: Work with a doctor or psychologist if you can. With ASD, it's common to have co-occurring conditions (anxiety, ADHD, depression, any of the personality disorders...). And we all are unique. ASD is not a personality. We all have different personalities and life...
