Do you agree that Technology is going too far?

I hope it doesn't get any ideas as far as humans' weaknesses that way.

Ways of cooling down an apartment without AC.

Old-fashioned trick: hang heavy curtains over the window to keep the house cooler in the day, but open the window at night, even if it's raining, to take advantage of cool night air. Rise before sunup & close the window. Also: Table fan, the bigger, the better. The absolute Cadillac of fans is...

    Artificial light sickness

I use the electric light and grumble a lot as I fantasize about eventually being able to afford a drafty old dump of a house to haunt--er, live in.

    Artificial light sickness

Yes. I distinctly dislike artificial lighting. Old-school incandescents at about 40 watts are OK, but I really prefer candles, fire, kerosene lamp, or the new-fashioned yellowish LEDs. Something about bright blue is disorienting.

What can you do with a special interest?

I love restoring antiques, playing music, listening to music, fixing machinery, and diving deep into history and culture-- Why on the good green earth I didn't become a piano tuner, I'll never know.
